Hide & Seek: He has started to play hide and seek and it's so cute. The funny part is he started playing it on his own. He will truck his little booty down the hallway and find a spot he doesn't think I can find him. As I make a big fuss coming down the hallway, I hear not giggles but loud bursts of laughter and when I find him he loses it laughing and tries to get away turning our hide and seek game into the "I'm going to get you game". Gotta loves this kid!
Door Stoppers: Oh I hate door stoppers! Jon taught Jax to flick and pull on the door stoppers (he will deny that he did! But I know the truth! :)). Those things are so loud and annoying and Jaxson LOVES them. I think he has found every single one in the house. He loves to play with them until they are to the point they come off. Then I have to run over because they go directly in his mouth and I have yet to glue the rubber part on the coil so he doesn't swallow or choke on one.
Big Time Flirt: Our child is a shameless flirt. He finds girls wherever he is and charms them....it's so ridiculous! I went to lunch with a group of good friends and he is tilting his head, smiling and giggling.....like I said he is shameless. And the flirting is constant. We are going to have to keep an eye on him as he gets older. The blue eyes are killer! :)
Bubbles: We have been trying to enjoy the great weather with the last of summer and start of fall getting outside as much as possible. Recently we busted out our huge bottle of bubbles and gave it a shot with Jax. The first time, he was not having it. The second time, he liked them but would get a little sad when they got in his face or popped quickly. The third time, he loved them. But that's Jax, sometimes he has to warm up to things. :)
Fav Book: Elmo & 8 Monkeys. Fav Song: I Am a Child of God
Tackling Big George & Lionel: Jaxson has a few favorite stuff animals, a large monkey we named Big George and lion, named Lionel. Every time Jax goes into the playroom he makes a beeline for the stuff animals (sitting on the former book table), pulls them down and proceed to wrestle with them. It's so cute. If you tell him to go and get Big George, he will go over pull the monkey down and wrestle him. It's one of favorite things of the day.
Finding the baby: Jaxson loves babies. He will find them in read life, photogaphs, on baby food jars, pretty much every where! He finds them, smiles at them and usually laughs.
Laughing at Giraffe: His room has one stuff animal remaining because he sees them, laughs at them, and wants to love them. So Jon and I give in and get down another stuffed animal. Noe he has one left, his giraffe which is on a high shelf. Every time he wakes up from a nap or in the morning, he stands up, finds the giraffe, laughs and smiles at it. I convinced Jon that he doesn't need every lovie and to leave it there because it's pretty dang cute.
Mouthing baby: Jax loves babies, in fact he is pretty obsessed with them. Whether it's a real baby, a photograph or the picture of the Gerber baby on his puffy can, he loves them. He crawls over, finds the baby and then mouths baby.
Love all monkeys: This kid loves monkey, maybe because he's a monkey himself! :) When he see s a monkey in a book, he points and gets super excited. He also tackles his stuffed animal, Big George, which is a big monkey, all the time! :)
Loves hats: When Jon wears a hat, Jax thinks it's the funniest thing. He will tilt Jon's hat down to hide his face and then back up, giggling. Then one day while he was holding Jon's hat, he just started to play peek and boo, so stinkin cute!
Drums with Dad: When Jax was really little Jon would hold Jax's hands and play the drums.
Pushing all chairs around: Some people get their kids walkers so they can learn how to walk. Jaxson thought we were a little slow to get him a walker so he decided he would find one himself. One day he started pushing our kitchen table chairs around.
No Help!: Oh Jax is so like his momma in one really specific way, he is
The month of sickness: This month has been rough in our little world and especially in Jax's. He has been all kinds of sick and has earned the nick name of Snuffaluffagus. He has had a cold, croup and a sinus infection all within a month. There is truly nothing sadder than a sick babes. As a momma, you just want to take away all their pain but unfortunately you can only gives them loves. :( Thank goodness our little guy is feeling better and we are all sleeping again! :)
Second bottom tooth: And then there were two! Jax finally got his second bottom middle tooth, about one month after the first one. Again, I am not complaining....one more month of breast feeding to go!
Cabinets!!!!: Oh I know this is just the beginning but Jax is driving me nuts with going in the cabinets! He goes in the kitchen cabinets, unloads them, throws the items around, crawls in them, etc. And it's like shampooing, lather, rinse, repeat because he does this over and over and over again.
Doggies: One of Jaxson's all time favorite things would have to be doggies! Our sweet neighbors, Jenna and Connor, have a puppy named Penny, who Jaxson adores. And it's pretty cute because the feeling is mutual. When either Penny sees Jax or Jax sees Penny they freak out. He loves to pet her but it's so sure when she licks him but forgets in two seconds and is back to completely loving her. There is also a puppy in the backyard behind us and because it's new construction in our neighborhood, no one really has backyards or fences in, so Jax will stand at our back door and pound on the glass to get the puppy's attention. And when the puppy responds he freaks out even more.
Love to slide: This kid could slide all day every day. Right now I go with him which I totally don't mind because I know in the not too far future he won't want mom to come and slide, he will "need" to go all by himself. So right now I am enjoying being a kid and going on the slides with my babes.
Knee scoot & hop: This is one of my most favorite things Jax is doing right now. He will be kneeling and then he will scoot and hop forward. It is so cute and just a little comical ;).
Future baseball player: I love when I walk in a room and see Jon and Jax throwing a ball back and forth. Jax throws the ball with a little knee hop-scoot & giggle which is to die for. He pretty much thinks catch with dadda is the best ever and so do I.
Peeking under things: So in our family room, we have a coffee table ottoman, which Jax and I usually play "I'm going to get you" around. Jax has figured out that while he is crawling to get me, he can figure out where I am by peaking underneath the ottoman. It really is the cutest thing to see that little face peering underneath the ottoman, cracking up. I just love him. :)
Learning to love new foods: Our little bird is a little scavenger. Whatever I eat, he wants to eat. He is my little bird.
Time Outs: I know, I know, he is 11 months and I am doing time outs.....I must be crazy! But when I say my child knows he is being naughty, I mean it. I will tell him no-no, he will smirk and do it anyways and then smirk again. And right now, holding still for a minute is the worst thing ever! We also do a lot, a lot of redirection but like I've said he is a very determined child! :)
This past month has been a rough one, health wise, but also such a fun one. Jon and I truly adore the monkey mister more than words. Our life changes daily but so much for the good, mainly because of Jax.
