Zoo Day...AGAIN! :)

It was the last free zoo of the year today!!!! So of course we had to head up there. Shauna, Lola, Jax and I enjoyed the awesome weather and all the animals. Fun times all around.

Why Does This Make It Feel So Real...

Today I finally called the Reproductive Care Center in Sandy to schedule a consultation. Why does this appointment make everything so much more real?!?! Jon and I have been living with secondary infertility for 15 months. I have done blood work, had an HSG, pushed Jon to do a semen analysis, lived with the grief every month. But for some reason making the appointment, filling out the paper work and calling my doctor's office to get my fertility testing transferred, has made it so real. I think by doing all of these things, something has hit me harder than ever.....we cannot get pregnant on our own. I hate saying that out loud. I hate thinking it. I hate that it's true. And I am afraid of what it means.

Tiny Moment - Come On Sleepy Time

For years I have heard the horror stories of insomnia, especially from my own family since it tends to run in my family. I felt pretty lucky because I thought I escaped it. It turns out I was not so lucky. I have had brutal insomnia for almost a year. I don't have a problem staying asleep typically but more falling asleep. I usually go to bed around 2. Thankfully Jax sleeps in till about 7:30-8 and I can crash nap once a week, so I can somewhat manage. I have tried skipping my crash nap and any sleeping in that Jon let's me do to see if I can reset my body but it hasn't worked. I have also tried baths, writing out lists to clear my mind, relaxing music, etc., etc. Nothing seems to work. So I finally called my doctor's office and asked for a good non-habit forming sleep aid for a person TTC. They recommended Unisom (a category A medication). Last night was the first night I took it. It was a little weird. My body was really tired and heavy after about an hour. But then my mind jumped on that real quick and decided to run through my list of stresses and to dos. After that it took another hour and half for me to fall asleep. Fingers crossed tomorrow night will be better! :)

Tiny Moment - Remember to Look for the Blessings

Random to post an EOB (explanation of benefits from our healthy insurance company) right? Well this EOB is from Jon's semen analysis. We were originally told our portion would be roughly $100. So that's what were were expecting. When we opened the EOB and saw our amount due was going to be $8.29 I might have jumped for joy a little bit!!!! Fertility testing and procedures add up and on one income it can be challenging. It's also so easy to forget the small blessings when you feel like the weight of your trials are crushing down on you. This was a small reminder that small blessings and relief are all around us, I just have to remember to look for them. 

Tiny Moment - Eating Apples and Getting Work Done

Jax has a fav remote control car he got for his birthday from the Johnsons and because he loves it so much we got rechargeable batteries for it. The pictures below show just a typical morning after I have forgotten to turn off the car and it has dead batteries. Jax loves to "fix it" and fix it with a real screw driver mind you! And today he is fixing it while eating an apple.....my little multi tasker! :)

Usually silence in our house means nothing but trouble. So when it got really quiet in the playroom this morning I had to go see what was going on. Shockingly my babes was just playing.....all by himself! That is a big deal at our house :) 

Tiny Moment - Trying Something New

Yay for trying new recipes with eating healthy. This recipe is super easy too! One full egg, one full bananas. Mash and mix, spread and cook. Easy peasy! :)

Added a little strawberries and natural maple syrup. Looks pretty delish!

So they are definitely not regular pancakes but for healthy egg/banana pancakes they are pretty dang GOOD! Cheers to trying something new! 

Tiny Moment - I'm Not the Only One

I might give Jax a sip or two of the "sauce" a couple times of week but I am not the only one.....that is not my hand in the picture! That's Jon's!!!! ;) Diet DP sips makes this boy happy. happy, happy.

Tiny Moment - Love an Afternoon of FUN!

Today was one of those days where if you don't get out of the house you will go mad!!!! So when Jon said he was coming home early, I told him to meet us at the library and then we headed off to Cabelas to explore. Jon has never been there! Crazy!
