*He is now pulling himself up on everything. It started with the ottoman in family room and branched into anything he can get a grip on. The standing has even extending into tubby time. He is still in his baby tub, I know, I know get that kid into the big tub....we are working on it. He grabs the edge of the tub and pops up, naked tush and all.
*He has completely converted to a big boy crawl. I don't know what it is about the flooring in the new house but Jax switched from the occasional big boy crawl to an all the time big boy crawl. I'm sure it feels better for his elbows and tummy but the switch did result in some bruises on the knees and head bonks with the floor when he biffs it at full speed. But now he is cruising like a natural.
*I got my cuddler back!!! I love Jax's cuddles more than I can tell you! It's still very much on his terms but when he wakes up from naps or night night or he is going down for the night he will give cuddles. With Jon he will barry himself into Jon's chest, giggle and then cuddle. With me, he will let me hold him like a baby.
*So the move to Saratoga wasn't without hiccups. We knew Jax would have an adjustment period I just think we underestimated it. Naps and sleeping at night were rough for about 4 or 5 days but after that and getting his room a little more settled he seemed to realize he was home.
*He has started to make the cutest "Oooooooo" face. I simply adore it, enough said. :)
*When we were packing up to move, I found some plastic metallic Christmas ornaments behind a piece of furniture. Because Jaxson had been on a ball kick I decided to let him have it. What a failed to realize is that he would become obsessed with the ornaments and they would become his favorite toys. He loves to bat at the ball and chase it around. I have a feeling the bottom foot and half of my tree will not be decorated this year.
*My mom had gotten Jaxson a baby train from Christmas but I had been putting off getting it out until Jax could really appreciate it. So as I was packing up the house, I unpacked the train. Little did I know that our little man would become completely obsessed with it. He loves to follow it and then knock it over and play with the animals and wheels. We still play with the train off and all day, everyday! :)
*It is so amazing to teach your kid something! For a few days off and on, I had been trying to get Jaxson to drink from a straw cup because he flicks his bottle nipple at me and never really drinks anything. At first, he wasn't so much into it and I was feeling pretty defeated. Then one day it clicked.....let's try monkey see, monkey do. So I sucked out of the sippy straw and then I would put it up to his mouth. We did this for a good while and he would usually chew on the straw but then all of the sudden it clicked for him and he started sucking away. It's crazy how excited I got! :)
*Jax has a new trick, if he doesn't like something I've given him to eat, he will gag on it until he pukes it up. We are working on it but definitely not one of my favorite things from this month.
*So we aren't quite to the point of taking steps without help, however he will takes steps while holding hands or holding onto furniture, so we are getting closer. I am by no means encouraging the walking because life is crazy enough with his crawling and standing but I think the day of me not having any control of him walking or not is quickly coming.
*Jax has tended to be a momma's boy until this month. This month, he wants his dadda! And nothing but his dadda! Sure he will come to me and we are the best of buds when Jon is at work, but as soon as Jon walks through the door I am chopped liver. It is pretty cute because the two of them just pal around.
*Last month Jax was introduced to puffies. This month we established puffy time because my little monster never holds still.......and it's a sanity saver for this mommy! He will actually hold still for 10 minutes, eat puffies, drink from his straw cup and just be mellow. It's pretty much my favorite time of the day!.....and we have it every day!!!!
*So naps and night-night have new challenges, Jax's ability to sit and stand in his crib. Pair these with a child who likes to party and welcome to my nightmare. It's slowly gotten better since he's realized these new found abilities do not get him out of nap time or sleeping at night but it definitely took a couple of weeks to figure it out and we do have relapses of thought in that area.
*His favorite book this month would have to Baby Woof Woof and his favorite song Little Bunny Fu Fu. Seriously the kid would have me read that book all every day and would have me sing about the good fairy giving more chances over and over again.
*I love that when Jaxson gives kisses they are slimiest, wettest open mouth kisses ever. It cracks me up that he grabs my face and won't stop kissing me until he feels good about it. But if I ask for a kiss and he is busy...heck no!
*He has gotten better at expressing what he wants. He usually will turn away or shakes his head no. Sometimes it's cute and sometimes not so much, but I do appreciate the communication from the monkey :)
*He has definitely become more of a little mimic. Recently I was sticking my tongue out at Jax and he started to stick his tongue out back at me. Then it turned into crazy lizard tongue, so funny and incredibly cute.
*Oh my baby is a licker, yup you read that right he's a licker! The other day he licked my cheek and then started hysterically laughing, I found it a little less funny then he did. I told Jon about it and he had the same reaction as Jax and started hysterically laughing. He asked if I could get it on video next time.
*We have continued to play the "I'm going to get you" game but now he not only charges me but he also tries to get away. We have also started to crawl race. Jax tends to get so excited and is laughing so hard that his crawl takes on the form of a drunken little sailor and he usually keeps running into me and ends up winning.
*One of my favorite things is when Jax is in his own little world, doing what he does and then finds something so incredibly funny to just him that he can't help but let out a series of tiny little giggles. They are sweetest most unprovoked giggles I have ever heard, I heart them.
*Every morning when Jax gets to the playroom he heads straight for his books (which are currently on a small table) and with a big 'ole grin on his face, little friend proceeds to pull down every book. Sometimes he pretends to read them and other times he pushes them around on the floor, throws them and pushes them to me to read. But I love it because he genuinely does love books.
*With the purchase of our home they included front yard landscaping which came with a crew of landscapers to put it in. Because Jax thinks everyone should be his best friend, he decided to hollar at the landscapers every day because he wanted to play with him. He pretty much thinks every one should play with him.
*Jax is a naughty mister like his momma. Growing up I used sit on my knees but my bum would rest in the middle on legs, which is bad on your knees, hips, everything. The other day I walk into the play room and low and behold, Jaxson was sitting the same way. Jon and I correct him in the way he sits but then two seconds later he does it again. Like I said, naughty like his momma.
*When Jax goes from standing to sitting these days, we get to view the all time favorite bum buster. That diaper most give a nice little cushion because he hits his little booty pretty hard. I love it because it barely registers with him and he is off to another adventure.
*Oh yay! Jax got his first tooth (bottom right tooth), just 3 days shy of 10 months! It was definitely a long time coming with the crankiness, swollen gums and all the fun things teething entails but it's here!!! Praying he won't bite my boob and that other teeth are less painful for him.
*My babes is seriously growing up way too fast. Towards the end of his 9 month he started started standing. I am not talking about holding on to things standing. I am talking about the standing all by himself. I'm so excited for him but there is also a little evil part of me that wants to push him down! :) This momma is not ready for a walking baby!
