Easter Sunday

Easter is such a special holiday. Although I try to keep our Savior and His sacrifice in my mind and heart all year long, Easter is such a special time to singularly focus on my Savior's sacrifice and what it personally means to me. Because of him, I get to be with my little family and my progeny forever.  Because of Him I feel comfort at my deepest moments of despair. Because of Him I find hope in my life every day. Because of Him I am able to become whole again. I am so grateful for Him. Happy Easter!!!! :)

Tiny Moment - No, No, No

I love this boy! I was fitting his suspenders so I could finish sewing them and this was his response. Fingers crossed he wears them on Easter! They are super cute on :)

Easter Party Fun @ Mom & Rick's

There was bubbles, kick ball, egg decorating, yummy food, cookie decorating, more yummy food and family :) Gotta love it!

Getting Over the Jealousy of the Old Me

Today I had an epiphany (I've been having a lot of ah-ha moments lately). I was thinking about when I got pregnant with Jaxson and how easily it happened. I thought about the bliss that followed and how much I took it for granted. I was pretty unaware of people's struggles to get pregnant and thought it was more or less a natural part of being a woman (well a woman that wanted to become pregnant). I had never put myself in the shoes of someone who had cried a million tears over not being pregnant and the weight of self beating feelings. That was not my life. I got pregnant the first month. And while I felt sad for those I knew who struggled with infertility, I could not possibly imagine the weight and heartache they were experiencing. I don't believe myself to be insensitive, I just believe empathy is a stronger connection and emotion than sympathy. You can't experience empathy without going through a similar experience. I also realized this empathy I was experiencing had also turned into jealously of the old me. I was becoming so bitter towards that naive girl. The one that got pregnant the first month. The one that didn't struggle with feelings of heartache, failure and sadness every month. She was almost mocking me in my pain. Then I decided to forgive her and get over the jealously of the old me. Yes, I was jealous of that girl, the girl who got pregnant the first month. Jealous of her happiness, contentment and pure blissful joy. And with that forgiveness and letting go, a weight was lifted and a new, different contentment was found.

Some of Fav New Sewing Projects! :)

A robot for Jax's upcoming big boy room! :)
Lots and lots of cute boy ties! :)

Learning to sew has definitely gone a lot slower and been more frustrating than I first assumed it would be. However I still love it and love the finished project! Hopefully it will click at some point ;).

Tiny Moment - The Sign of a Beginner

You know you are a beginner at sewing when your FOURTH needle of the night looks like the one above (crazy bent). Needless to say the three before it didn't look any better, either bent or broken. After having my Mom look at it, she decided it was probably a combo of cheap needles and having thread way too thick! Lesson learned, look at the thread needed not what it's the sewing box. Well that and don't cheap out on my needles :). Cheers to being a beginner :)

Tiny Moment - The View From the Toilet

Jax has been a little obsessed with stickers lately and  his little sticker obsession apparently knows no bounds. Today it followed me into the bathroom. Having Jaxson come into the bathroom with me unfortunately is nothing new but him bringing activities is! I swear I am not in there very long but to Jax it's long enough! :)

Tiny Moment - Sad Spring Day

Cute little monsters should not have 101 fever all day when it's sunny and warm outside. My poor babes was so miserable! :( Hoping tomorrow is a better day.

Tiny Moment: A Little of This, A Little of That Kind of Day :)

Today was a day with a little of this, a little of that and oh so fun! :)
A little playdoh in the morning.
I was able to convince Jax that is was cool to make play doh rocks that his construction truck could push around, pick up and haul. Mom win! :)
A little slide at the park.
And yes he goes down the swirly slide with his hand behind his head, laying back. Love this little quirky dude :). He has a whole lot of awesome in him.
More slide time.
My big boy going to the top of the playground :).
His fav....the swing....the baby swing! :)
This boy loves an under doggie. No exaggeration, I did 30 under dogs today! :)
Going up the fishes back like a boss ;)
My little ladder champ! Why does he think he's three or four. Killing me!!!
He loves the wobbly pole stand. Its pretty hilarious in his world.
After the park it was off to hike with some of our aunties, uncle and cousins! Jax ran the first little bit of the hike with the kids and then ended up in the hiking pack on my back. All 34 lbs of him! The pack got a little much for this momma and Uncle Tim saved the day. And then Jax was on my back pretty much the whole hike down. Definitely easier going down than up. :) Fun times though! Jax loved the water fall and tried to jump in the freezing water every five seconds. :)

Tiny Moment - A Pretty Good Surprise

Jax got a kitchen today!!! We have been looking at ways to expand and improve his imaginative play and I found this little play kitchen for $20.....yup $20 and it came with some accessories. Got to love yard sale sites! :) Jax has been super cute, he will fake drink the milk and fake eat the cookies and loves the microwave. He always wants me to climb into the kitchen when we are playing in there. Heaven help me it's a tight squeeze when we are both in there but my diaper boy is so happy :).

Tiny Moment - The Morning Usual

This is our morning routine. Out of crib and straight into the play room for some quality car time....his fav time! Gotta love mornings :)

Tiny Moment - Calm Down

This is Jaxson telling me to calm down when I sing (and please excuse the awesome singing). When he first started saying it this morning he was actually calm. But if you know Jax, you know that if he can ham it up for more attention, he will!!!! :)
