Griffith Observatory

After spending a long day at Universal, we decided to head to the Griffith Observatory before we left LA to go back to Anaheim. We seriously didn't think through that it was a Friday night and a super popular destination. We ended up having to park about 1.5 miles away (they wouldn't let us wait to see if a closer spot opened up or let Jon drop us off) and hike up to the observatory with kiddos in tow with no sidewalk (so no stroller). The walk was inclined and pretty brutal but our excitement returned when we reached the observatory.....only to find it was an almost 2 hour line to look out of their huge telescope. We couldn't say no to our space enthusiast Jaxson, so we waited in the line. Bens made some kiddo friends. West tried his hardest to be a good sport. Jax was finally able to look out the telescope and see Jupiter and its moons. He was on cloud 9 and all dreams were made! Well worth the hike and wait! After a little look and walk around the grounds, we decided to head out. Thankfully Jon hiked down to get the van (which was side swiped on its back bumper by another vehicle while parked (Not to mention we had to pay $20 to park on the side of the road....all of the parking/accident stuff was so freakin irritating!) and we drove back to our hotel for our last sleep in California!
