Where to start?!?! There are not words for how much I love this 6 month old chubster! Seriously he is the sweetest, happiest kiddo in town. Sure, he has his moments of being a grumpy gus but all and all he lights up the room. His smile and laugh is so incredibly infectious, it amazes me. He has the sweetest spirit and I am so grateful for it in our home. Here is a little bit more of the things we love about our Bensy-Boy!!!!
-He is big on squealing, smiling, giggling and big belly laughs. He especially likes his brother and thinks he is one of the funniest ever! Mom and dad come in at a close second. He is also still super ticklish pretty much everywhere. He does a hilarious dog foot kick when you tickle and bug his feet. It's pretty awesome!!! He also has the best giggles when you burrow into the side of his neck, especially on the right side.
-He is a fishy boy for sure! Loves his tubby time and has turned into a big kicker. He also is a big rag sucker and loves to gnaw on foam letters. And thinks its pretty funny when I wash him up with soap.
- He is still quite a fan of his toes, including sucking on them.
-He is the cutest when he gives kisses. He will grab your face and bring into his with an open mouth and give a nice sloppy kiss.
-He has decided he really likes toys, even though sometimes he gets really mad at them.
-He is getting the hang of sitting. He can sit on his own but lacks the confidence to sustain a real long sit. But if I sit behind him and not touch him, he can sit for awhile ;). He is still not the biggest fan of tummy time but is doing better. He can roll both ways but doesn't like to so it's pretty limited. He still spits up during tummy time so I'm thinking it has a little to do with that. But he thinks rolling to his sides is great. He is definitely our lazy little lush.
-He loves his jumperoo. Okay loves might be an understatement! He could spend his whole day in the jumperoo if I let him. And his jumping doesn't just stop there. He jumps when you hold him, when he is nursing, when he's laying on the floor, the boy really likes to jump.
-The car is finally getting better! Thank freakin' heavens! The screaming is down to a minimum lately and there are not words for how grateful I am for that! He usually only cries when he is tired and not for very long (KNOCK ON WOOD that doesn't change).
-He is a big fan of getting his diaper changed. If you want a coo and a big smile, change that boys diaper. Same with lotion.
--He loves being tickled and totally anticipates it when he sees your hand coming in for the tickle.
-He is a big fan of music still. You can sing nonsense to him and he will love it! He is still a fan of patty cake and peek-a-boo. He is also quite the dancer. His Uncle Tim dance is probably one of my favorite things EVER!
-He is still quite the binky boy. His latest party trick is flipping it over and chewing on the tab with the most of hanging out of his mouth. It's the cutest ever!
-He is very easily distracted while nursing, especially if he hears Jax or Jon
-He loves his people
-His hair is growing back in and definitely has a strawberry blonde to it.
-His eyes are still blue and beautiful and pretty much disappear when he smiles :)
-He gets the rosiest cheeks 90% of the day and I have dubbed him my ginger-Santa boy ;)
-He is still quite the momma's boy but loves his dadda and brother A LOT!
-Sleep is still not the best. He sleeps one 5 hour stretch (between 7pm-12am) sometimes (& sometimes it's only 4 hours) and a couple 3 hour stretches at night if I am lucky. Naps aren't horrible most days. He takes between 2 and 3 naps and they range from an hour to 3 hours. We have no schedule which is killer for me but hopefully soon!
At 6 months Benson is 15 pounds 14 ounces (18th percentile), 27.25 inches long (76th percentile) and his noggin is 4.5 inches (55th percentile). It's crazy because looking at Benson he looks so chunky! But apparently he is long and just the right amount of chunky with the side of a Barrett head. Ironically Jaxson was about the same size as Benson at this age but they carry they length and weight in a completely different way.
