Big Boy Tubby Time!

Okay I really could have moved him into the sitting position for tubby time when he started being a sturdy sitter but he was always so cute and comfy when he was laying back. He loved propping his feet on edge and placing his little tushy on the middle divider. But I could definitely tell he was ready to sit like a big boy in his tubby, mainly because of how many crunches the kid was doing :). So I took out the divider and sat him on his tush! I know it doesn't look like it from the pictures but he is love, love, loving it! He is a crazy splasher and loves to play with his toys. Next step, no baby tub....the real tub! :)

8 Months!!!

Oh I heart this little boy so much! Every month I am reminded just how fast he is growing up. I feel like every time I blink he doesn't just grow a little but a lot. Now mind you not all days are sunshine and rainbows. He can be super wiggly, loud, busy, drama, etc. BUT I do feel so blessed and grateful for this little boy that was entrusted to Jon and I by our Heavenly Father. He really is a gift and truly has such a sweet spirit. He amazes me every day with what he learns or with just who he is. He is my best little bud and I love spending my days with him. Here is a little bit of what he has been up to this month:

-He is now a crawler! (about 7 months and 1 week) And he has found a crawl of his very own. Some at first glance would say oh it's the combat crawl. But I have to disagree, if anything it's the "Jaxson Combat Crawl". He definitely put his own spin on the crawl, throwing a little tip toe action, knee rock and face dive in the mix. I particularly love that he gets too excited to crawl to Jon or I so he ends up doing his fish swim instead. But if you throw out some keys, zoom....the kid is going for them.
-He is super busy and now that he is crawling, he is starting to get in to everything. It does not help that we are starting to pack to move, so we are CRAP EVERYWHERE! Pretty sure his first word is going to be "mine" because that is what I tell him all the time....awww crap he is going to be like the seagulls on Finding Nemo! At least it won't be my catch phrase, "Oh my h***" :) I swear I am a good mom....most of the time ;) (I have ear muffed him a lot this month with all our builder drama....this momma has a little bit of a potty mouth when she is fuming!)
-We have started calling him baby bird because when he gets excited he flaps his little arms like a little bird. This becomes very entertaining when he is eating because it is usually accompanied by a wide open mouth, hence baby bird stance. Don't worry his food comes from a spoon, not my mouth :)
-He has definitely been loving the pool, especially in his floaty. He thinks it's either a jumperoo and goes crazy in it. Or he leans back and just relaxes. But that to me is Jax, he is either going 100 miles an hour and just chilling. I swear that's just boys!!!! Everyone told me before I had Jax how busy boys were but I don't think I realized how young they start to get busy!
-He has discovered spitting :( While it is funny, it's also pretty gross, especially when food is involved. He finds it pretty amusing but we are hoping it passes quickly. :)
-Jon taught Jax to poke. It's pretty dang funny. It all started with Jon teaching him to poke the Playstation joy stick on the control. Then Jax took it upon himself to poke everything. The other awesome part is, he will literally only poke things with the pointer finger on his right hand.
-He loves the noise you make by putting your finger parallel to your lips and moving it up and down, while making noises with your mouth. Now there has been a huge debate over the name for this motion/noise, so if anyone knows it, please let me know! We initially did this to Jax's mouth (and still do) but then he started using his left arm did it himself. It's so cute!
-Still no teeth.....thank goodness! Keep in mind I am breast feeding little man (hopefully till his first birthday) and I am not looking forward to him getting teeth. He has been gumming me really hard lately and it's been killing me. It's been difficult because as physically tough as Jax is, he is a tender heart. So when I raise my voice telling him it's not okay to "gum" me, he starts to cry. I was totally that type of kid and according to Jon's parents, so was he.
-He also started mimic a little bit more, including head tilting. It's the cutest thing ever!
-He still loves to hang out our bed in the morning. He especially loves to steam roll Jon. Mind you he never steam rolls his momma just dadda!(I also might encourage him to do it!) Gotta love that! He finds it so amusing, usually letting out a giggle or two after he is on top of Jon's face.
-He loves when we say amen at the end of prayers. He thinks it's the funniest. When might even repeat it a few times, just to hear the mister giggle.
-His favorite song is 4 Monkeys Swinging a Tree. I love when we get to his favorite part and he just starts smiling and usually lets out a little giggle.
-He screams....a lot. It was much more prevalent at the beginning on his 7 month and has let up, THANK GOODNESS. But church was rougher than usually for a couple of weeks.
-I know a lot of kids have a security blanket or stuff animal they have to sleep with. At our house that is Binks. And Binks would be all his pacifiers. He is quite funny with them, usually spins one around in his mouth like a lolli-pop and has another in his hand. He usually only has them when he is sleeping and we pop it out as soon as he wakes up but I do have to say I have a weakness for him with Binks in his mouth....he looks so stinkin cute. It's going to be a sad day to get rid of, which is quickly approaching.
-My child is a narcissist. Okay he really isn't but he loves watching videos of himself on my cell phone or computer. He knows it's him in the mirror but I don't know if he has made the connection that that is him in the video yet. But there are a few videos where he will just lose it laughing.
-He is finally a good self sitter! He has been able to sit on his own for a while but typically tipped over if I was sitting close by (pretty sure lack of confidence). But one day this past month, it clicked and now he sits forever on his own, until he decides it's time to crawl and get something more appealing.
-Mister love, love, loves standing. The order of his preferences with his movements: #1: Crawling, #2: Standing, #3: Sitting.
-He thinks everything Jon does is hilarious. Whether it's animal noises, neck tickles with Jon's bread, head tickles (where Jon puts Jax's belly on top of his head), or pretty much anything else....the kid hysterically laughs! Loves his dadda.
-His separation anxiety is getting better! Yay!!! He still very aware when one or both of us are gone but it has to an extent gotten better. He is also doing better with jealousy, even being happy while I was holding my niece Harper (loves that she still cuddles!).
-His ring. So at the bottom on his jumperoo there is a metal and plastic ring holding it up. For some reason, Jaxson loves to crawl into in and play. It is also by the door which has blinds. The blinds been have pulled out of reach, but the small plastic pokey clamps at the bottom remain....he loves them. He loves, thanks to Jon, to poke them.
-As for toys, he still loves his jumperoo the most, but also loves the Sesame Street toy, his squeaky & soft blocks, his keys, monkey stick, chicky, Sophie, his soft books and his soccer ball with rings.
-I love that he loves books. If he is in one of his especially busy moods, I can usually pull out one of his soft books to read to him and he will calm right down.
-He loves animal noises, Twinkle Twinkle,Twinkle Little Star, The ABC's, -Patty Cake, Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.....honestly the kid just loves music. However he does not know how he feels when Jon plays the guitar. He just stares at him with a look of fascination and concern.
-He is heaven when I "toss" him on the couch and let him play up there. I use the word toss very loosely because of how gentle it is. Regardless the kid loves it. He usually rolls and crawls around until I tickle him and collapses into a ball of giggles.
-I love that he really is just a happy kid! He has the best and biggest smile, like I said in an earlier post, he smiles with his whole face (really with his whole body and soul). He wears his emotions on his sleeve and he loves without reservation.
-I know there is a ton more I am missing, but there is the long and short of the month! :) And here are some pics of the monkey mister.......

Father's Day 2012

How grateful I am for Jon, for the father he is and will always be. He is so selfless and loving with Jaxson. He truly does all he can to be the best provider, teacher, example, father, etc. A lot of days I am in awe of him. He goes from work all day to home, never missing a beat and making sure Jaxson and myself get all the love and attention we need. As you can tell Jax loves Jon and thrives off of every moment spent with him. I truly feel blessed that our children will grow up in a home with such an amazing father, provider, priesthood holder, etc. Happy first official Father's Day babe, we love you!!! :)
